Yeah, can't wait to actually see that done in the TV show. Will be brutal, the outrage from fans over Ned's death has been pretty huge so this event... yeah.

I just started book 4 a couple of nights ago. I was amazed at how much stuff went down in Book 3. I'm also amazed at how you don't get any warning before a major character dies.

Man the red wedding was heart breaking. One of the reasons I like the series so much is for the lack of warning. It makes it that much more shocking. A certain someone being abruptly thrown out the moon definitely was shocking.

Beric passed along the "fire" inside him that was responsible for his continued reanimation to Catelyn.

Did I miss that? Can you tell where to find that in the book? All I remember is Nymeria finding her and dragging her out of the river. I don't remember any mention of her after that.

I don't believe it's stated explicitly, but the disappearance of Beric (and Thoros?) leads me to believe that is the case. Beric was tired of "living" after being killed so many times, and so he gave his magical fire-life to Catelyn.

This was my initial assumption as well. I only asked because you presented it as if you had read it. I was wondering if my copy might have been missing a chapter or two!

I always presumed he would return in some fashion.

Thoros tells how it happened to Brienne near the very end of AFFC.
