I'm going to pull the trigger on 2 EG's

1. Galway on the 64 last with shearling lining. Not sure if I should go with the almond with mink suede or the rosewood.... opinions welcome

I di not see the Galway listed there...is this an MTO that involves a surcharge and a wait?

Thanks for the great PSA! I'm looking to get my first pair of EGs, but am having trouble deciding on some options, and am wondering if and fellow SFers can chime in.

1) Galway or Alderley? I already have 2 pairs of rugged/casual captoe boots, but no brogues or wingtips. There's not much info on the Alderleys, but here's a photo:

2) Upper/lower leathers: a) chocolate nubuck/burnt pine, or b) rosewood country/antique nightshade calf? I'm looking to have something that can show of EG's burnishing the best and be versatile at the same time. Saw the nightshade color posted before here:

and according to Leffot's it's something like dark purple, burgundy. I have a lot of #8 cordovans and this looks to be different enough.
3) I'm size 8.5 on Alden Barrie last. Would it be right to get 888 lasted in size 8E?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Edwards of Manchester are having a 20% off sale.

VAT is also deducted.

Check out this website for details:-

use code jan2013 for a 20% off EVERYTHING

Just bought a pair of EG Chelseas and a pair of G&G St James.

Works out to less than $1400 for both pairs of shoes shipped.
Thanks mate. Ordered a pair of Asquith for myself and a pair of Berkeley for a friend. Mark is super helpful in getting me UK 5.0 (yes, I have small feet) and the Berkeley in E888. Flush metal toe plates cost GBP 50 but considering I wear out the toe tips quickly it's money well spent.
