No offence, no felt under the tongue and on the heel can fill up 2 sizes, half a size at max. And if the buyer feels the shoes feels fine at the point of purchase, one would expect to bear at least half the responsibility.

We all paid for our mistakes in sizing, I don't think it's fair to make a blank statement against this store.

No offence taken, however I refuse to take any of the blame. I couldn't do more than explain to the store professionals that for twenty years I'd worn nothing but flip flops and sandals and had come to them for professional help. My only blame is that I was totally ignorant about how they should fit, hense I went to "experts" for advice. "No problem Sir, Take a seat Sir, We'll professionally measure your feet Sir, both feet Sir because your left foot may be different to your right." I now know that the machine would have read UK 12 F. Why then did they sell me a 13.5? They knew full well that it was completely the wrong for me but felt absolutely no shame in selling them to me anyway.
You say, Wurger, that we all pay for mistakes in sizing. Maybe so if you're blind buying off the Internet, but not if you go, as I did, to retail specialists. In order to get it right and not make the mistakes I put my trust in professionals who blatantly lied and misled me. Why did they bother to measure my feet if they then ignored the correct measurements?
If putting all my trust in a so called specialist retail outlet was wrong, then I accept some responsibility. If not, no way will I take any blame at all. IMO I was incorrectly sold a product that was not fit for purpose.

Short update. Placed an order during the Sep/Oct sale last year, shortly before the EG - EoM relationship turned sour. Was in contact with Mark regularly, and because EG had not declined or refused the order, we decided to wait...
In August this year we pulled the plug and I got my money back, within a day, no issues, no worries, whatsoever. Just a shame I did not get my Inverness at that great price.

I do not believe EoM is a present stockist of EG (or has been the last few months) so I am not sure if you'll get a lot of responses.

Duely aware of that (non stockist since end last year). There is this nagging suspicion at the back of my head that tells me that EoM might have gone for more profit and sold "my" discounted pair at full price to someone else. Given the practically most common size a UK9, and the ease of doing so, maybe not too far off...
No accusation as such, but if they did and I ever found out, I'd give them hell. That's for sure. Again, not saying that's what happened.

May I ask when you ordered the EG and at discount or full price?

From what I know of their history, they seem pretty reputable (outside of the EG problems). My orders were prompt and communication was on par with others when it came to delays with orders.

I didn't pick up a UK 9 (although I did get a pair of Inverness from them I think a couple years ago before all this happened); I hope you find some acceptable resolution.

Thanks, DpprDr. Like I said further up, got a full refund without any issue. So likely just my mind getting creative on me.

    They're a great seller.

I ordered a pair of Tetburys from them on sale. They were sold out, but he honoured the price once they were restocked. Although he said four weeks, it was closer to eight weeks (not their fault; C&J tetburys are on back order).

    Verdict: solid seller.

Just a heads up for anyone who was planning on ordering from Edwards.

The Landlord of the building they are in is a friend of mine and he's not happy, so I'm assuming there are rent arrears (leading to the moonlight flit...)
