I saw a mainline zegna (not Z Zegna) linen sport jacket in a zegna store today.
It is made in spain. But it is fused in the lower area, just two-ply in the button hole area.
And because it is an open construction. I can see a black fused ply glued on the fabric.
I compared it with a Z Zegna linen sport jacket which has a open construction too, they are almostly the same.
But I can't see the lapel area. Is this mainline linen sport jacket fused in the lapel area too?

If the lapels are canvassed, yes. To check the lapels, rub them together with your finger and thumb. If it's canvassed, you will feel the roughness of the many tiny stitches on the canvass. It's very easy to tell with some lightweight fabrics, and more difficult with heavier fabrics, especially grosgrain and satin lapels on dinner jackets. If it's fused, there are no stitches at all, but rather glue, so you will feel no roughness.
