I've been wanting a jacket with a fur collar like that one for awhile, but not with sheared beaver.

Astrakhan would be very nice, but I'd would be willing to settle for mink like on this Vicuna coat that Fourinhand posted back in spring (I believe it was a Colombo coat?).

I've been wanting a fur vest, in beaver or fox, but what I'm looking for is so hard to find. It's like, I can draw it out on paper....but....maybe I should just get a fur license and make it myself.

True, but these are still all kickass.

Do it.

I'm not a fan of fur collars but these coats look nice... just not for me.

I love it and would wear it.
Once when I visited my grandma, I tried on an old bespoke fur coat of hers just for fun, I was close to ask if I may keep it to get it tailored
.
It looked pretty hilarious/über-pimp as I wore light tan cotton pants, tan monks and a panama hat at that moment.

Assuming your question was meant in the sartorial sense, I don't dislike beaver. I just dislike the sheared stuff, which I think is much more suitable for things like hats and such.

I like sheared beaver for hats as well as linings. I wouldn't mind a topcoat with a sheared beaver lining. A chesterfield-type coat with the collar worn turned up would be okay with me.

I also like the coat; I think the fur gives it a bit more sartorial flaire.

What is "sheared"?

The beaver source throws me off, instinctively giving it as "cheap" feel. Why not use mink?
