As per title, recently I've been looking everywhere for a full length trench coat (i.e. calf length) and I simply cannot find one from an European brand (or at all, indeed, but importing from America is so expensive that I usually don't even bother looking). It seems as if fashion industry has decided men don't get to wear full length coats anymore, they are only for women.
I can't afford 1k+€, for starters, so Burberry, Aquascutum and Coherence are out (btw I really cannot quite grasp how a machine-made cotton raincoat can cost as much as a bespoke wool overcoat, even with such name brands).
I've looked up and down ebay for one vintage, too, but nothing in my size, at least not at less than *several* hundreds, which seems way too much for heavily used items, often stained.
All other retailers I've seen have models that are either thigh length (decent looking, but not very practical for a raincoat) or hip length (which looks completely terrible, and is even less practical).
Closest I've found is Brooks Brothers, but starts from 40''/50IT for some reason, and it still falls short (and it's still crazy expensive, but they do do massive sales from time to time).
Does anyone know of any other brand that sells one?

What is your price range? Does Grenfell work, or is that too expensive?

Admittedly I was hoping to spend a few hundreds. Thanks for the suggestion still, they are nice indeed.
But for anything close to 1k, I might as well buy Simon Crompton's version which has all sorts of fancy details like disappearing belt on the front, cashmere lining on pockets etc.

Full length trench coat?

...Do you also want a 15 foot long masamune?

At that price, you can go vintage. There are a million good trench coats on ebay. You can also get something like this raincoat from Cordings, which isn't a trenchcoat, but has some stylistic similarities. You should also check out Drop93.

The Cordings one seems pretty good and not as expensive as most new trenches, but the bright yellow lining, more than being single breasted, was too much to overcome.

+1 for vintage Grenfell.

Unfortunately there are literally 0 Grenfell trench coats being sold on eBay right now, in Europe.

Anyways, I've now resorted to basically visiting all vintage shops I can reasonably reach in my city in search of one vintage (as of now, have found three macs from Burberry/Aquascutum, but no trench yet sadly). Will check back on eBay from time to time, hopefully will find one in my size sooner or later.

No one sees the lining. Also, if you like the olive-ish one, it does not have the bright yellow lining.

Theres usually hundreds of vintage Burberry on UK eBay, but beware of sellers who haven’t got a clue what they’re talking about. Alternatively Ralph Lauren usually do a classic cut version

It's a trench coat. You don't want a slimmer fit.

But hey, at least it's a fashionable length.

I don't think you people appreciate how hard it is to find a vintage S size i.e. 36'', in the full length which is apparently unfashionable nowadays - nearly all of them are 40+ and a few 38s.
I also would need to pay additional VAT thanks to the "wonderful" brexit, since I'm in Italy, which drives up prices quickly.
At least most other retailers now offer VAT-free prices for EU customers (though couriers still charge a questionable fee just to file papers to import items).

On this I agree, the coat has a belt for a reason. Still, being already an oversized coat by design, I don't want to spend a few hundreds to swim in it.

Look no further than to Seh Kelly.
I like how the belt is hidden under the flaps of the pockets in that model.
They're also all sold out, but will add to the list of watched things, ty. Might write them if my search ends up being unsuccessful.
Actually, I like most of their coats. Wish I could collect them all, eh.
