Hello,

i have a short question about a certain type of shoe.

I am concerned about buying a „Full Brogue Suede Derby“ in brown as the Crockett & Jones Swansea for example (with or without a leather sole) and i am not sure whether it would be a good choice.

I’ve already got a captoe oxford and a plain derby (black and brown).

Is this specific shoe suitable for chinos, raw denim even grey wool trousers (with a navy blazer)?

Thanks in advance!

The shoe would work well with all three. Anything short of a suit in my opinion.

Yes, I think you could definitely wear those with the options you laid out.

I'd say it'd match all of the above.

Just don't pair them with sweat pants.

I *just* bought the brown suede pair of these and received them today for the exact purposes you're outlining (moving away from oxfords as I just dont' dress up enough anymore). I think they're a very solid choice!

I have three pairs of suede brogue derbies, so my answer is…yes:

-They dress up denim, and dress down worsted.

-The soles make a difference, dainite and rubber being a better match with denim, IMO.

-Dark brown is probably the most versatile color.

-That last is attractive and looks nicely “amphibious” in adapting to all three styles.
