Okay, let's be honest here. I'm not sure what "transaction security" means, but my PM's to you were straightforward re: my concerns.

You have three posts here and are selling five $2,700 "courtesy cards." You gave as little information as possible and it wasn't until the third PM that you disclosed the cards are limited to in store purchases only they must be used in-store (not online), & can't be used to pay off a Banana Republic Card balance or to purchase gift cards. When I finally insisted you provide full disclosure re: the nature of the cards and the transaction, that you indicated the sale could be done through an escrow account costing $150 or more.

You may be legit, but I wouldn't touch this offer at half the price.

I am very interested in this offer (I luv 'Nanners, it is my favorite store, heartzez! <3 <3).

However, I only have about $1500 to spend.

Would you be willing to cut one of the cards in half and sell it to me for $1350?

Thanks.

Mano,

(1) The above post was not directed at you. I have had a number of people suggest that they were hesitant to send a large amount of money to someone from an anonymous forum, hence the question of how secure the transaction would be. Ebay provides a more transparent and secure means of buying and selling.

(2) Your "honest" representation of our exchange is, in fact, quite misleading. I suggested to you that an escrow service might make you feel more secure about the transaction, but that it wouldn't be my first choice because of the transaction cost. At no point did I say that I expected you to pay the fee. Also, you say that you "insisted" that I "provide full disclosure," as though I had been withholding information from you. Note that I volunatarily provided the details of the cards to you--you didn't "insist" on anything. Instead, you asked a series of fairly vague questions about how we might complete the transaction; I provided some answers, abut also suggested that we talk in person (since--as you yourself suggested--the back-and-forth nature of the PM system is so inefficient) so that we could discuss these concerns in detail. You never responded to that suggestion; instead, you posted this public message insinuating that I have somehow been deceitful.

(3) Lighten up & stop taking things so personally, especially when they're not intended that way. You'll live a longer and happier life.

Oh my, it seems I hurt your feelings.

Sorry that I didn't appreciate that you "voluntarily" disclosed the severe restrictions of the cards after three PMs. (BTW, are those ALL the restrictions or are there more? May the cards be used in conjuntion with other offers, on clearance and sale merchandise, etc.?)

Also, I'm sorry I didn't appreciate your offer to pay the escrow fee. I guess I was distracted by the fact that you didn't make the offer until I refused to pay the fee.

Please post the link to your ebay auction. I'd be most interested in how you represent the courtesy cards.

Mano,

I'm really not interested in having this sort of petty exchange in public. If you feel like you need to have the last word, go ahead and post another sarcastic retort. I promise I won't respond.

Agreed. Plus, what are the chances that somebody with $2700 to spend is a big enough fan of BR to do that much shopping by 2008? It would take me until the year 6093 to find $3000 worth of clothes I'd want from BR.

Anyway, nobody ever posted a link. I found it and will post below:

In addition to it being a crappy deal anyway, he wants $30 to ship a card??!!!
