I recently bought a pair of Crockett & Jones "handgrade" double-monk strap shoes from eBay seller Grapevinehill for $196.45 shipped. Upon their arrival, I polished them to a burgundy & dark brown antique color, but have never worn them.

I'm selling them because I've been in a weird "simplify your life" mood recently and I don't think I really need these shoes (I know, I know). Honestly, I think I'd get more mileage out of a pair of #8 Shell Cordovan Alden 990s so I'm sort of saving up for those. Anyways, ramblings aside, I do really really like these shoes, and I won't sell them if I have to take a huge loss. As for condition, they have never been worn and the soles aren't scratched. Obviously, they have been polished. If you buy the shoes from me, I'll include the brown Saphir cream I used to darken them. Like diorshoe and tiger02 mentioned, the creases will lighten as the wearer walks around in the shoe. The saphir cream is included so that you can reapply it to those areas should you so choose. Alternatively, you could just take 'em to a cobbler and get the polish stripped off if you wanted to. Size is 8.5 D. $180 shipped priority w/ insurance and delivery confirmation. If you're interested, send me a PM.

J&M branded Rochester Washburn trees. They're not that bad, though I do prefer my Woodlore.

Ed, I wore mine for the second time yesterday. I didn't get any 'package looks great in those pants'-type comments, but two women in the office said how much they liked them!

Yeah, I figure with my "package" pants and these shoes I would have to beat the chicks off with a stick!

Absolutely beautiful shoes. I dont know what got into your head to get rid of those! Good thing you've been set straight, cause I would have been more than happy to help you part ways with those.

I was in a weird "be a minimalist" mood last week and Norcal caught me at just the right time...I guess another pair of shoes won't hurt (though I will be listing three or four other pairs on eBay when I get around to it)

I'll post some more pics tomorrow of the shoes...I've stripped off all the polish and now they look really great.

Nice job! Quick question, how much do you think the color has shifted from the original color? It's hard to tell on a monitor. I ask because I'm interested in changing the color of mine, but don't want to constantly re-polish them or add color.
