Ed, would that last pair of pants, the size 35 Paul Stuarts' flannels fit a size 34 or are they cut too big (British)? I like slimmer fitting pants

I think they would, if you don't mind a medium to high rise. I was going to keep them but prefer a small rise (10 inches or so). I'll post measurements tonight or first thing in the morning.

The Brooks briefcases are made by Swaine Adeney but it's not clear whether by the Swaine division or by the Papworth brand (less hand-stitching). In any case, the link to Classic Luggage indicates that a new Swaine briefcase similar to the one pictured costs more than $1,800. It's a deal.

The Shoulder measurements on the HF Flannel seem much narrower than a 40R? My 40Rs generally measure 18.75 to 19?
