Canned forum response: why don't you distress your own boots?

I posted a shorter motorcycle boot a while ago and got a negative response, but it wasn't Fryes, so who knows... Personally I see nothing wrong with the form.

I dislike short boots, and that finish is too aggressively distressed. I like the harness 12Rs, though.

In case you do get these or a similiar pair from Frye's, you might want to check ebay first - I've been seeing lots of auctions for some of their various harness models for under $100.

Not my cup of tea because I find it too bulky. But then again, it looks good on some people. Ditto with others on the fake distressing.

How does Frye boots fit? (compared with red wings and/or sneakers)

Fryes consistently run half a size large.

And the harness boots consistently go for just under retail on eBay. I don't think I've ever seen them go for less than 150, let alone under 100.

I had this burst of patriotism this morning and realised that most of the shoes I bought are made in Europe. I wanted to buy something quintessential American and made in U.S.A. I've never bought Frye before but I know it has a very long history. I'd love to own a pair.. just wondering which one. Thanks for all your feedbacks.

I have two pairs of the same boots in Black and 'Gaucho' which is a shade of dark brown.

They are excellent boots and I wear them quite often with my bootcut jeans. Probably among the most comfortable and well-made boots out there.

FWIW, the 13" boot is much harder to get off of your foot, which is why I opted for the shorter version that you're lookng at.

I really like those boots. That must be the gaucho color.
