Its hard to find blazers via ebay in Short size. My question is ,if i buy regular and get it tailored to short will it throw off the general shape/style of the jacket?

Yes, but only to the trained eye. I've done it with several jackets. 1" should be good. More than that, and the pockets took too low.

There is literally no other answer than "it depends." It depends on several factors, such as the placement of the button and pockets. I've seen jackets lose less than an inch and look way off. I've seen jackets lose two inches and appear fine. Honestly, it just depends.

One inch should be not a problem. But you need to consider is if the jacket has already been altered already.

It could be a preowned jacket that was already shortened one inch. Even some items considered new could have been altered. Important question to ask of the seller.

Depends on how much you lop off. It will move the pockets and button stance down. Too much and people start to notice. .5", not so much. 1", maybe.

you can save up money and go MTM, such programs are often around the same price as retail depending on fabric choice.
