I do agree with their assessment that Pink is a gateway to a better shirt. Personally, I like Pink's fabrics and collars, but the half dozen or so that I have owned have all shrunk oddly, causing the fabric to pucker and pull due to different pieces of cloth shrinking differently.

Some on that list I can't speak to, but I own seven Hamilton shirts, and they are the better of every Brooks Brothers and Turnbull & Asser shirt I've ever seen.

Odd? You can't include every shirt. As a publication you have to cater to a wide base...

T&A, Kiton, and Brioni are high-end enough to satisfy the snobs of the world but to clog the list with all shirts that cost over $400 would be alienating too many people.... for MANY, Pink and BB are still somewhat aspirational as they shop at Macy's.

I'm not sure who would benefit from having more obscure custom makers like Kabbaz or retail like Borrelli, RLPL, Barba, and Barbera on the list escept those brands.

This way, there is something on the list for everyone. And the reader voting has yeilded a reasonable, if not perfect, result.

Like any kind of list or ranking on sartorial matters or others, it's simply useless and bs.

Is it? While there are particulars about the rankings I'd disagree with, if a sartorial neophyte used the list as a guidepost to purchase shirts, would he come up with a bad result? For the most part, no.

Good point, this.

If you try to please everybody you end up pleasing nobody.

Yeah.. but there aren't enough fans of Kabbaz and Anna to support a magazine.

And the people who buy Brooks and Pink don't care enough to buy one.

Thank heavens for the Interwebz!!!!!

I guess if the list was best bespoke makers I'd put them on it...

But from a RTW perspective I'd at least put H&K, Fray and Borrelli on the list.

Maybe those as well - Barba, Fray, Finamore make more or less the same quality of shirting in my experience.

^ Do they each make their own shirtings?

Or were you referring to the overall quality of the final product?
