We might need a different class for contestants with access to their own warehouses of clothing. I'm looking at you, gdl and Spoo...

I have faith in everyone from CM that the stuff posted will be better this time than last time.

Solid advice for anyone who's planning to participate: Look through the last 50 pages of the SW&D WAYWT-thread(there's A LOT of good stuff there), and keep browsing back and forth until you have at least 20 outfits that you find cool/nice/interesting/dope/whatever, then figure out why it is you like them, and then emulate that yourself

Brilliant!

I think one difficulty is that most guys in MC, myself included, do not have a lot of real good SWD type clothing, it's not something they have really invested in because it's not something that they really wear. And that's perfectly understandable. So they end up just throwing stuff together that they think is an SWD fit when in fact it's just kind of a mess.

It's one of those things where if you don't really have the pieces, there's not really any way to do it properly.

If more people begin realize that, the fits will be better.

I don't get it... Aeglus spent plenty of time in SW&D. It's not surprising that the winning outfit was on the conservative end of SW&D.

You feel bad blowing money on M&P mags? Try living in California. :foo:

Fair comment. I also think that some of the best CM posters have a blind spot when it comes to casual clothes and often come up with some car crash pics. Victor in his Canadian tuxedo with lizard skin edges, braces and French cuffs anyone? O/O with his laughable attempts at a geriatric biker in leather flip flops?:slayer:

I agree completely, and ironically I've just posted something not dissimilar to what you're saying here about casual fits here in response to your fit over in the HOF:WAYWRN thread... :)

Just a quick observation after browsing some WAYWRN casual fits:

A majority of CM tends to view casual clothing as an afterthought much like a majority of SW&D views suiting (and more formal wear) as an afterthought. Obviously there are exceptions. Also, the casual spectrum on this side of the forum is very narrow. You pretty much get fits that range from B-reel shots of a J. Press/Brooks catalog to outlet Polo mishmash fits with the occasional wannabe Pitti/GQ. There's hardly even workwear/outdoorsy type fits. I don't see any designer stuff. It's also very odd that people who obsess over degrees of sleeve pitch in suiting or the warmth (or lack thereof) of a certain shade of blue can't figure out how to buy a pair of jeans that fit decently. At the bare minimum, I would think that translating some of the same ideas that ground normal CM fits to more casual looks should produce something inoffensive.
