Alright everybody, we've been stuck at home for a few weeks now -- or several weeks for some of us. I had a few ideas for this weeks challenge, but I hope this one will be fun and popular:

If we weren't on lockdown, what would you be doing or want to be doing? Did your favorite concert, game, conference, or graduation event get canceled? Were you planning a vacation to a beach or the mountains?

Post whatever would be appropriate to that activity/event. It could be anything from a new linen sport coat to an academic robe, concert tee, martial arts uniform (@LA Guy), scuba gear, fishing outfit, marathon #, Comic Con costume, etc.

Have some fun with it.

As you can see, masks are welcome.

Challenge will close next Friday, May 1.

@emptym, can you clarify the intent of the challenge? I understood that we are to wear the gear for our desired activity, but in the confines of our homes, for maximum juxtaposition.

Good question, SB. I assumed people would wear them at home, but I'm impressed with Clouseau's photoshop abilities, and I like Newc's older pic...

IIrc, the usual rule is that the pic must be pretty recent -- if not this week, then close to it. We might as well continue that. By definition (something we can't do due to covid19), any pic of us actually doing the activity would have to be an older pic. So that would disqualify Newc's pic but qualify Clouseau's assuming he wore that recently and photoshopped his whole body into the pic.

That said, I think it would be nice to see pics like Newcs of the person actually doing the activity, in its proper context too. But we should just count those as supplemental, rather than official entries. If someone wants to stage their stay-at-home pic, that'd be welcome.

Does that sound right?

Hi. I took the picture two days ago at home in my martial arts uniform. As i think there is also a "where would you liked to be" (vacation, etc) dimension, i found refreshing (after six weeks of lockdown here !) to photoshop nice surroundings of a place i would like to visit...
Cheers
C.

I've started Martial Arts a long time ago (full story here, on the opening post of this thread i started a while back : https://www.styleforum.net/threads/the-sf-martial-arts-thread.643750/)

I now practice Tai Chi Chuan (or Taijiquan) for 10 years. The legend says that Tai Chi was created by a Taoist called Zhang Sanfeng who lived for a while in the Wudang Mountains...
Those mountains home a vast complex of Taoist temples and monasteries, and are also a well known place to train in Chinese Martial Arts...

I intend to go there one day, in the post-covid19 word ! :)

Easy. Not sure if I can swing getting in my gear without my wife thinking I’ve lost my damn mind.
Just tell her it's for the forum. I'm sure she's used to it. :)

That's really neat. I like Daoist philosophy and practiced a bit of Qigong when I was in Germany. Really wanted to study at the Shaolin temple as a kid. Mostly though, I've stuck to other martial arts. I'll post about it in your thread when I get a chance.
