After that exchange, I am reminded that, although chronology is inevitable, maturity is entirely optional. Besides, who said that I was an actual grown up - though, in my own mind, my current role is "geezer in training". :satisfied:

Thanks betel! The tie is from exquisite trimmings' own collection. Extremely good value for just £55 new and £30 on sale. Sadly, they're all out of stock at the moment.

I'm having trouble seeing any of the current submissions as "FU" in the sense of “loud,” which was how it was defined at the close of the last challenge when I inquired. They're all quite beautiful, but they don't strike me as "loud" (I intend that as a compliment, by the way). I guess in this context "loud" means "strongly patterned," not necessarily "brightly patterned"? I'm not complaining, I'm just trying to grasp the intended meaning of the term in the present context.

Perhaps this is one of those generation gap things ...

    Cheers,

    Ac

No, Ac I agree with you. This was the reason I thought I couldn't play in the winter. I have a couple FU madras jackets, but they are for summer. Stiches comment really threw me for a loop. If he thought these were pretty FU, then perhaps I have much too high a standard. I may be able to play after all.

Cotton Dockers has my vote for now. His fit would be superb in any context, but the jacket is especially memorable.

To me, "FU" means what it says: "I'm going to rock this jacket and I don't care whether you like it or not". Imagine a President delivering a State of the Union address in that jacket. Or a CEO delivering his annual report to the Board.

    Y'all feelin' me?
