There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

My strategy for this challenge was to try to reference as many of the things @Anden included in the examples as possible, and then add linen and slubs to that. That's what #menswear means, right?

First, linen galore: linen blend jacket, linen shirt, linen pocketsquare.
Matka silk tie with slubs for days.
Bonus points for aircraft-carrier sized lapels.

Down below, we've got cream trousers that are cotton but are cuffed like they're wool.

To cap it all off, dubmonks in suede.

@heldentenor Love the PS/jacket/shirt/tie combo. Would love a close-up if you have one.

All the pieces look great, but I don't think the white shirt goes well with the cream pants. I think a light blue shirt would look much better here.

@Coxsackie well that's my entry done and dusted. Great look and I love the suit--first wear/post on SF?

Also, you forgot to give yourself credit for the bigass oak door, another iconic staple of #menswear.

Thanks, I've posted the suit once before, but it's a summer suit and we've been in winter here in Sydney.

Predictably, though - first day of spring today and it's suddenly 22 degrees in the shade! That's Sydney for you.

Don't discount your entry yet, it's strong.

This is off to a strong start. Doesn't look like I'll be able to participate (going out of town), but look forward to what everyone else comes up with...maybe a linen DB with a polo and Belgian loafers [IMG]

I must say that I'm utterly impressed by the entries so far. Both the thought behind the fits and the photography.

Again I find myself separated from my photographer (I really need to learn how to take selfies) so these pics are not new. Double breasted jacket in a heavy Holland & Sherry tweed, cashmere tie from Petronius with the famous 7 and a linen monogrammed ps, all from Al Bazar in Milano. Of course I met the legend Lino while I was there, but that pic is hidden since I visited the store the "wrong" day on my last visit to Milano, so I was not dressed for the occasion (to say the least...).

That's the first time I've seen a Lino tie on an SF member. Can't really top that for #menswear #awesomeness!

Does Lino have all his ties made by Petronius, or do they come from various sources?

DipTies brought a howitzer to a knife fight. Barring the entry of a Full Wooster[IMG], I think he's got this in the bag.

When I was there (about 10 months ago) all the ties with the number 7 were from Petronius. Of course they have "normal" ties as well and I'm not sure that all of them were from Petronius.

The rules can go fuck themselves - well known #menswear proverb.

So. I channel my inner Kimber and ditch the tie and the proper footwear.

And a nod to the great Agnelli.

The Friday Challenge, as stated above, is "#menswear", which, if I am interpreting the challenge correctly, means "the stylistic affectations of the moment". As much as I am too old to be "of the moment", I've done my best, within my means to comply - a single-breasted peak lapel suit, with ticket pocket; trousers with side tabs, no belt loops; a cutaway collar shirt; non-black shoes with a blue suit; a pocket square from Drake's; and colorful socks. That's as affected as I can be on a Friday before a major holiday.

    Suit - Paul Stuart/Phineas Cole
    Shirt - Tyrwhitt
    Tie - Hermes
    Braces - Paul Stuart
Cufflinks - Metropolitan Museum of Art
PS - Drake's, via the Armoury, NYC
    Shoes - C & J

    #menswear details:

    - The pose
    - Long sleeved polo shirt with collar spread on the lapels (TBH, I didn't wear them like that outside my own apartment)
    - Suit with crazy wide lapels
    - Trousers with side adjusters, 2 inch cuffs, pleats et c
    - Blue tassel loafers

In all honesty, besides the shirt collar popping, I like a lot of the #menswear-y stuff.

Bonus pic of my grandpa doing something similar back in the 40s:

From today. I guess mint green trousers, suede loafers without socks and jacket with upper two buttons closed count for #menswear. No?

Went to Coney Island for the first time ever on a whim today. I probably wouldn't have worn this in hindsight. Chambray cutaway collar shirt, linen jacket with 3/2 roll, patterned pants with 2 inch cuff, espadrilles, no socks, panama hat.
