You might hate or love them, but this friday, the challenge is about odd waistcoat!

    The rules are quite simple:

The outfit must have an odd waiscoat.
But, to add some difficulty to the challenge, each of the three pieces must be separates.
Thus, no Two Piece Suit with an odd waistcoat, or no matching waistcoat and jacket, or matching waistcoat and trousers!

And since ties were forbidden in the last challenge, they shall be mandatory this week!

Entries accepted until mignight ET on 5/13/2016.
    CLOSED.

Having gotten official notice of this challenge only this morning, this is an improvised entry (and is heavily based on last week's Friday Challenge entry) but it does follow the rules as set forth - an opening salvo in this sartorial battle of fits, then.

This could be a trainwreck challenge.

Considering I rarely see odd waistcoat fits that I like, I am going to second the above.

Well, isn't the point of a challenge to be difficult?
Some entries might sway your opinion! At least, let's try!

Don't get me wrong, it's a great idea and yes it is challenging. It should be fun to watch. But there is a high probability of failure, which makes it perhaps even more fun.

Just remember that mine is the first car in this trainwreck pile-up! :D

Ok, since you didn't say entries had to be from this week, here is one for you. [IMG]

Feel free to disallow this though.

Not sure if this counts since it's a woolen vest:

Normally I gripe about "ties required" challenges, but this time it's academic since I don't own a waistcoat either.
Or a pocketwatch. Or spats, or a grey felt fedora, or loafers with kilties, or an AARP membership card, or a car with a hand-cranked starter...

On the other hand, some of us do wear a pocket watches, are AARP members, don't like the word "train wreck", and go out of our houses and into the outside world (and own a pair of grey spats).

(None of these pictures are from this week and I am not wearing the grey spats in any of them because I am not wearing my grey and black striped trousers in any of these pictures.)

The only items on your list which I do not own are spats and a car with a hand-cranked starter (actually, I've never owned a car of any variety).

I used to own one specific type of car with "hand-cranked" starter. The one you had to either push (so, manually) or park on a down slope.

Well, I'm definitely in. I wore something appropriate just yesterday :).

    Are cardigans acceptable?

Here's some inspiration with a cardigan vest:
