Earlier this month in London on a very pleasant day out with @upr_crust , these pictures were taken by the nice people in Benson & Clegg. Upr_ has authorised me to use them for my entry (he has, of course, already entered the Challenge).

The first is my entry pic, the second included just for interest, as it shows in the background one of the naval uniforms made by B&C for the Queen's father, the late King George VI.

I am sure a similar type of coat has served you well over the years.

A clear example of ‘the look goes on’ even if the other garments worn with it are slightly different.

Thank you @Kingstonian !

You are right, I can't think of too many periods since we embraced the 'Crombie' style at the end of the 60s when I have not had something similar in my wardrobe.

Yes it's still open. The thread isn't very active, though - my fault, as my life has suddenly got very busy and I'm hardly on line at all.

Thanks for the entry.

The contest is open up to the 12th of Jan.

Eh? Ooh no! No. Listen! Listen! Oh please yourselves.
I know that this will sound wierd to some, but me and my mod mates, used to have a weekly competition in our local back in the 80's with some punks, to see who could do the best Frankie Howerd impersonation. A lad called Shogsy always won. He was in a band that were a bit Glam rock and wrote a controversial song called I f***** the Virgin Mary and laughed when Lennon died. Me and my mates who were all Catholics used to feel a bit uneasy about it, but hey they were punks and not Catholics.

I'm supposed to enter, so here's something just for a laugh. It looks a little like a Crombie, but most of the duds in this shot are faux...

'The Heavy'. Faux wing-tip brogues from Marks & Spencer, black work socks by JCB, black Levis, fly-fronted leather overcoat by Milan Leather, roll neck gawd knows, gloves from Marks & Spencer, faux Ray Bans from Boots, faux leather pork pie.
