Well, I was inclined to go for something festive but there is still next week…so I have decided on herringbone. It has been requested a few times of late and why not? It's certainly one of my favourites.

Your entry can be a herringbone topcoat, jacket, suit, trousers or even a tie - or a combination, of course. It can be subtle or ‘in yer face’ as we say in these parts!

A jacket / coat and tie must be included. Given the busy time of year, I am happy to relax the rules on when the outfit was worn.

Entries closed at 1900 GMT on Saturday and the poll is up - closes Monday at midnight GMT. I have included any entries without a tie and shall let the masses decide.

Your contestants:

x-post WAYWRN - a double dose of herringbone - topcoat and suit . . .

I was told there was a challenge. Does anyone know who started these weekly challenges in the first place, anyway?

Can I reuse an old fit? I don't have my camera.

Tweed. Shoes are burgundy IRL.

Cheers,

This is a very heavy large scale herringbone cashmere tweed I had made by NSM along with one of their bespoke end-on-end shirts and a bespoke EG C tie. I wear it on cold days without an overcoat. Its as cozy as a blanket.

Xpost from WAYWRN. I heard we were wearing herringbone.

I suppose this qualifies... It's a beautiful 30C and sunny here, but I guess if I was still living in London, at this time of year I'd be wearing something like this (from when it was cold enough to wear tweed here):

*Probably the only shooting I'll be doing in this jacket.

Hi all. Here is my entry.
Brown herringbone Hudson suit by SuitSupply. I like the cut a lot!

Wow,

Amazing outfits. For me a herringbone SC for casual Friday

Fantastic entries. Here is my modest one - Timothy Everest jacket in Italian cloth:

Tom Miler, it appears as though you have sewn in the creases on your pants. Interested in how you feel about that approach now that you've (presumably) lived with it for a while.

In fact I haven't done it. The trousers were pressed by tailor right before the picture was taken so that is why creases look so sharp. I have a few pairs of tweed trousers (500-600g fabric) and having used them for a couple of years I can tell you that keeping tweed trousers in shape is next to impossible unless you press them all the time. Aside from permanent dissapearance of crease, I'd say that it is almost impossible to avoid slight defotmation in knees and in the bottom but IMO that's the nature of tweed and I don't mind that at all :D On the contrary, I am the type of "Harris Tweed everything" person :D :D :D
