YOUR CONTENDERS:

Clicked on this thread because I saw my favorite boots in the thumbnail. I don't know if I can compete but this one is for the "Sythese Inspirations bucket". My favorite combo at the moment is this: (Could even go full Margiela if I include said favorite boots)

Well, I'm not disputing you there.

My humble contribution to the challenge:

Props to @EFV for effectively capturing the boots and suit in a single image. I let crappy pics prevent me from entering last week's challenge so this week I'm going with what I have:

Suck it all you slim-lapel haters, its a Mod Mod world!

Boots: Carmina U-wing in burgundy "museum" calf on Rain last (Gentlemen's Footwear GMTO)

Some interesting entries, gents. My footwear is an unusual choice for me - in August. I've been dodging the rain all week so got out these Jeffery-West 'Kriss' black calf ankle boots on Thursday:

Details and full:

What I wore for a wedding today...

YOU HAVE UNTIL TUESDAY @ MIDNIGHT TO MAKE YOUR CHOICES!

Title says it all. Wear some boots with your suit, and do it better than anyone else. Because I am lucky enough to be running things, you get bonus points for streetwear touches like not wearing a tie (double bonus points for 3-piece with no tie) or even wearing a tee with your suit. And jumpsuits definitely count. Dunno how bonus points work, but you still get them.

Inspiration photos will be added as soon as I can find some!

I like it, but since I am away at my folks' place before heading to a conference with only my two fresco traveling suits and one pair of dress shoes, I don't think I can take part this week... unless my dad has some of his 60s Chelseas still around somewhere...

I hoping to see some Chelseas. I'm pretty sure @Cleav has at least one pair. So does @Claghorn if I recall correctly. Just to mention two of our better-dressed members.

This is promising.

Cheers,

Ac

I have been thinking that I need some Chelseas recently. Actually for quite a whille. I think it was @DocHolliday used to argue that they were the most versatile boot you could own, and also the optimal choice in many situations. I reckon he may have been right. If I'd had a pair they would have been my choice for this trip.

I hope Cowboy/Western Boots work. I live in Kansas. When we say boots, we mean western.

after wearing boots all day in the desert heat I don't really understand the grumbling about wearing them with a suit, in fact, I feel like if it's super hot, a necktie is going to bother me considerably more than covered ankles would... maybe that's just me though(?)
