The FRIDAY CHALLENGE heartily congratulates two of our own who recently tied the knot with their respective partners!

Congratulations @upr_crust on your high society NYC wedding!

Congratulations @JHT652 on your classic English wedding day!

In the best English traditions it is customary -

"It's one of the most well-known wedding traditions out there: A bride must wear something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue on her wedding day for good luck! The trope comes from an English rhyme dated to 1898, which also adds that a bride should also have a sixpence in her shoe"

So, as grand congratulatory slap on the back to our friends your challenge is to wear Something OLD, Something NEW, Something BORROWED, Something BLUE!

You may elect to wear just one piece from the English rhyme, maybe two, three or all four pieces. You may well be able to offer a full house and place a sixpence in your shoe! You can make this as simple or as complicated as you like!

Just to be clear suit/jacket with tie is required. Your offering shall have been worn this week. All entries shall be made before 7pm GMT Saturday 3rd October, poll will go up directly and will close on 5th October.

Subscribed, of course - as I was part of the inspiration for this week's challenge, it would be unseemly of me not to participate. Besides, I've got a few ideas . . . .

Well my outfit of the day could make it, and as I won't wear anything new this week, let's try it

So the shoes may be quite old Zintala (Silvano Lattanzi) for they're thrifted (by the way, let's say thrifting is like borrowing an unknown friend, so they're also my borrowed something)
The tie is obviously blue, so are the socks and the shirt is a brand new Boggi I bought on Monday.

My first attempt at this challenge.

Nothing old (save for myself - hitting 60 on the 12th - one hopes that it won't hit me back)
Something new - today's waistcoat
Nothing borrowed
Something blue - today's shirt
And not one, but two lucky sixpence, though on my wrists (my cufflinks), not in my shoes.

Gents, let's play a game.

Try to guess what's old, what's new, what's borrowed in this outfit:

Jacket is NEW (SuitSuppply Havana F/W15, first time wearing it
Waistcoat is almost NEW (second time of wearing)
Trousers are OLD and NEW (thrifted bespoke tweed trousers, but worn for first time)
Creative PS is BORROWED... and it's from dear fiancee... I'll let you pervs know that these are panties :)

Great entries so far, here goes my shot:

Something old: the tie, might be the oldest in my closet (7+ years), one of the first woolen ties i bought
Something new: white undershirt (thankfully not visible)
Something borrowed: my argyle socks, stolen from my lady
Something blue: obviously four "somethings" here, the stripes on the oxford shirt, the waistcoat checks, the tie and jacket are blue
