Not feeling the vest. Ok with the rest.

I agree - I also think that the overcoat is too close to the SC in its colour and style. I really love the coat though; there is nothing like a good, thick wool overcoat.

Do you guys not like the vest at all or just with this outfit? I think a solid blue shirt may have worked better with the vest. Also, the overcoat completely covers the jacket in most cases. I like that they're the same color. I think it gives a sense of continuity.

It's just too much for a classic look like that. Nothing wrong with the shirt...ditch the vest and it's all gravy.

I actually kinda like the vest in this context. I mean, it's fucked up, but in a pleasant way. :)

I can see the reasoning on the overcoat. As for the vest, I think it has to do with the warmth of the base colour compared to the rest of the fit. You've gone for a cool and dark blue / grey palette, and then there's this one piece in a predominantly warmer, yellowy-cream colour. A grey waistcoat (if significantly different enough from the trousers - a different tone or a grey-based check, or a significantly different texture, for example a ribbed wool) or a dark red or green, would have worked better IMHO. But then again, it may just be because although I always like the idea of Tattersall waistcoats and I contemplated buying one in the Rugged Museum sale recently, I rarely see them actually working as I imagine they should.

I think the vest is the best part, if I had to nit-pick I would say the shirt is a bit too formal for this fit, but the fit is up there with my all time favorites from AAS.

I know I like tattersall and blackwatch more than the SF standard groupthink does, but I'd call this a home run.

OK, I'll play, although I had to dig deep into the back of the wardrobe to find a navy jacket. Yes, it's velour.

Nice - is that the Anderson & Sheppard you wore at Victors the other night?

What all is this about?
