mimo, with that link you have forfeited any right to complain about denim in MC. Just nope. You're done.

The thing is I live in a climate that has two months of warm, three months of hot, and seven months of really fucking hot, so it's not an obvious choice for me. But I just can't resist it. Too much for a suit, perhaps, but I think I have to have a jacket at least. I just love that texture.

I'm actually scared to click the link myself - one glance was enough to know it was the correct gift for you. That Google search, I think, just raised flags in government basements on three continents. Glad to be of service.

I only complain about denim in CM. I think I might reject MC as a concept in itself. But you do have a point. I'm sorry. Let's just think about tweed and ancient madder for a moment, shall we?

Seemed as good an opportunity as any to wear my dark chocolate Hober grenadine and brown tweed jacket. Shirt is pink, trousers mid-grey flannel and shoes are chestnut monks.

    mimo,

MC = Men's Clothing in old StyFo parlance before they decided to call it Classic (& Timeless) Menswear.

You mean before they separated the children's section? For the best, really.

(Great jacket and tie, Archie - although surely the trews will be a disqualification. Where are the monks from? Nice shape.)

No, when they launched the redesign, MC (already separate from SW&D) was renamed CM.

Ah, now I'm with you. That's a bit sad: I rather enjoy the implicit message that if it's SW&D it's not really for men. Anyway, sorry for the digression. Blame Derek's PVC.

Thanks. Hmmmm, I had thought grey trousers were acceptable, just not a suit or jacket. If I'm wrong, I may swap out the trousers for beige moleskins and try another picture.

    Monks are C&J Monkton.

I can't think of anything more SF-staple than grey flannel trousers, and he said in his original post "nothing gray". Inconsistent young fellow!

Anyway, good, I liked Mr Leach's look a lot.

I'm probably still not in compliance somewhere, but I tried. Shirt is lavender, tie is copper, shoes are brown, but they are U-wings (not captoes).
Flash, no flash and shoe isolation for compliance check.

X post from WAYWRN. The jacket is navy-white houndstooth. I hope it fits in the guidelines.

I'm going to post this here just so everyone can see how Clags is rigging the poll so that he remains champion. Just you wait, he's going to declare my fit outside the rules. Bet on it.

Linen jackets (it's still stupidly hot here in DC), olive khakis, brown monks, green striped shirts, and green paisley bow ties are all staples, right?

Closeup of the shirt and tie since the light in my apartment this morning seems to have made colors look a little bluer than they really are:
