It's a shame you can't join in, that is a nice combo, let's see if anyone is as well put together tomorrow?

I forgot to get a linen square to participate in this challenge. FFFFF.

Navy blazer and 'clay' pants arriving tomorrow.. that would let me be able to qualify. Not win, mind you, but qualify. Except for the lack of PS.

    Sad story.

If TTO is allowing entries from any day this week, as with last week's challenge rules, I'd like today's fit to count as my contest entry.

Of course, you will all be enthralled solely by the subtlety of the textural interplay between the heavier linen of the suit & lighter, more open linen of the shirt; the delicacy of the puffed silk square; the beauty of the woven toquilla straw of the hat against its dark ribbon; and the subdued elegance of the crocodile - or are they alligator? - shoes. Not seen is the 1 day stubble, but I assure you that it was artfully calculated to yet add another textural element to the blend. Surely, the epitome of the sober elegance that is an all-solids outfit.

OK, OK, enough of that twaddle. It's unalloyed flashy fun, but that's always been my personal preference over sober elegance, so I can't think of a better outfit to use as my entry. Have at it! [IMG]

Love it. But if I might take you off on a tangent, please tell more about the alligator shoes?

    Thx, stitchy! [IMG]

They've Zegna Limited Edition, from some years ago. I think the designer was having a bit of tongue-in-cheek fun when he came up with them. You see, technically, despite the expensive exotic material, they're austerity brogues. [IMG]

Here's a quick snap. They're a rich dark chocolate brown, despite the wonky colour balance in the photo:
