6 ft 5, 190 lbs. Nicknamed "the horse" - I think you can guess why

I noticed him last night and nicknamed him Bettlejuice.

He's only 190? That is pretty light for someone who is 6'5".

190-195 is what's sually reported. Same weight as Phelps but 2" taller.

I think you can tell from the pictures that he has a very low body fat...

his body fat doesn't look appreciably different from other swimmers.

He just looks strange. His head is smaller than his deltoid.

I think it does. Phelps, Lezak & co all look less defined unless they're flexing. Bernard looks like an A&F model more than a swimmer IMO

I don't know, Phelps looks like he has pretty extraordinarily low bodyfat (probably lower than the French thing):

Must be an outdated figure. In the first pic, he's easily 215, 220.

I think for the most part swimmers are more cut in the freestyle and fly. For the breaststroke and the back they generally don't have as much muscle. Or at least, they seem to have more bodyfat than free and fly. Look at any of the freestylers versus say a breaststroker like Kitajima.

an experienced swimmer respond - but I think swimmers like a little fat for the added buoyancy.
