1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

    There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Love them, thin cut, steak fries, seasoned or salt only. Ketchup no mayo or dressings.

    I stopped eating fries due to that article. Whenever I see fries "toxins in your fries" pops up in my head...lol

    That and once I heard an italian cook saying "there's no fried food in Mediterranean cuisine" and being Mediterranean it was heart-warming. I absolutely hate fried food.

    I remember there was a campaign a while ago to label french fries as "the new cancer sticks" (referring to cigarettes being called "cancer sticks"). I thought that was pretty absurd.

    Having said that, from what I understand, deep frying carbohydrates release some kind of carcinogens, yada yada yada, whatever.

    Eat your fries and enjoy them. The levels many of these studies require you to hit, would require you to ingest double portions of <insert food here> all day long. I mean, even the linked paragraph above says,

    There is plenty of fried fish in the italian cuisine.

    deep frying maybe, but theres a lot of pan frying

    As far as I'm concerned there's nothing comparable to Belgian-style pomme frites. I like mayo and ketchup both on them.
