1. I'd like to announce that animated avatars are now available again. You'll have to reload, but they are once more possible.

We've been doing a ton of work behind the scenes. The site load speed was already under 1/2 of what Huddler's was, on average, and we installed cloudflare, which means that the site should be even faster. A ton more will go on in the weeks and months to come, and some things will be more visibile, and some less.

    Cheers,

    Fok.

Common in most places with historical ties to the UK. Agree that there is too much cuff sensitivity in North America.

I am wearing a FC shirt today with no jacket or tie. I dressed it down a little by wearing tennis racquet cufflinks. I wouldn't wear these with a suit, so at least I get a chance to wear them.

    Certainly, cufflinks can intimidate humans:

What nonsense - do you all have to wear the same cheap company issue uniform to vaoid upsetting them?

    These are much better.
Thankfully not. However if you try to do anything that one of the airports should be doing they will file a grievance with the union against you. For example my boss moved a garbage can a couple feet (when she was new) and the janitor filed a grievance against her.

    Welcome to Canada.

I love FC's, but your 100% right. It's very disappointing sometimes to live in the US for this reason.

Wear whatever you want, bro. People in the UK think wearing brogues are casual, and ocbd with a suit is sacrilege. (They'd die if they ever meet Thom Browne) fashion rules are generally a guide for people who have no fashion sense, thus, need a set of rules to follow. I personally never match my belt with my shoes. Fuck what fashion nazis think, wear whatever looks good on you that gives you confidence.

Idiotic is more like it. If one can be offended by a shirt part then one has far larger issues than clothing choices.

It's symptomatic of the whole "self esteem" movement that started when my (Boomer) generation began having kids.

I wear French cuffs all the time, jacket or no. Fuck em if they can't take a joke!

I've been wearing French Cuffs with silver links to the office lately with no jacket or tie. I wear slacks and nice AE shoes and it seems fine. I think the jacket and tie rules are traditional, but if you like wearing the french cuffs without them you should definitely go for it. I really don't think most people notice anyway.

I never wear French cuffs in summer beacause the cuffs get too grimy from my sweaty carcass.

I wear French cuff shirts even at weekends.

I never like barrel cuffs because they never roll up properly.

In C. Europe, I had thought barrel cuffs are the norm because they actually have some well designed ones

Try using this method for barrel cuffs, as found here on Effortless Gent http://www.effortlessgent.com/how-to-roll-up-shirt-sleeves-effectively/. Makes a nice, uniform roll at the elbow that never falls down.
