Found problem with Red Wing GTs

Ok I just got a pair of Red Wing GTs, everything fine but I noticed that the right shoe the leather piece for the tongue is wider than the leather tongue piece on the left shoe. When they were laced up on my feet I noticed, no matter how hard I pulled the laces the right shoe would never be as tight around my ankle as the left shoe, due to the bigger leather tongue being scrunched up and not making the boot fit as snug. So my question is, will Red Wing even bother to have me ship my boots to them to fix it? Or just bring it to an reputable cobbler? BTW if anyone can recommend one for a job like this so the boots will look like factory made when done, I'm located in NYC(Brooklyn).

Thanks!

Sounds like they are new? I don't understand why you wouldn't just exchange them for another pair.

well I got them online from a reputable authorized RW dealer, so I went to local RW factory store, theyre gonna take a look at them and once I show them proof of purchase they will go from there, they have the boots at the store right now

also I've been wearing them for about a week and noticed it last couple days so I can't do a straight exchange with the retailer since once they're worn...that's it. it seems more like a factory defect so I rather deal with RW themselves
