Rain and snow are nasty stuff. I've experimented with NIKWAX, which is good stuff, and dubbin. The former is really for a work boot or a walking boot, not a business shoe. I've also got a new product, Collonil Waterstop, which I haven't tried yet. Have any worked for you?

This has always been a bit of a sticky wicket for me. I like keeping my boots shined but I want to wear them in the rain and use a waterproof spray.

I sprayed a pair of BB Peal boots with Kiwi waterproof spray but am not sure if getting them shined will take off the effects of the spray or whether the spray has "matte-ified" the leather for good.

Collonil waterstop is an excellent product. I have used this product on all of my leather & suede goods and I have never had any issues. The nozzle lets out such a fine mist that you are not left with a sticky feeling on the leather.
