1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Let's sticky this. If it really takes off we can even add a button to the navigation menu.

Judging by the number of edits by people other than me (zero), the whole collaborative concept of wikis is not well understood here. I think it's best used as an extensive FAQ or reference, but it's only as people make it.

China thinks wikipedia is anti-communist and has blocked the page. [IMG]

A Kabbaz' shirt making and care articles might be appropriate, but I don't know how much leeway he gives for re posting.

I've added section headings to the shoe page to make it easier to read.

Is it possible to create sub-pages, e.g. Shoes/Styles?

Please be sure to post credits to the author of any info you take from the forum (very important) and preferably a link to any forum discussion on the subject (would be nice).

Thanks. The stuff I pasted over there needs to be cleaned up.

Kent, could you edit your OP to include the URL and current edit password?

I'm pretty familiar with editing wikis, but I haven't used this particular software before. I tried to create a sub page with a / character but didn't really seem to succeed [IMG]

Anyway, I copied and wiki-reformatted von Rothbart's list of shoe makers and put it on a temporary page here: http://styleforum.pbwiki.com/ShoeMakers I've also sent a PM to von Rothbart asking for permission to put it there.

The shoemaker list is now officially on the wiki, with von Rothbart's permission.

I edited my mirror polishing piece and polished the whole wiki up a bit. I hope it's to everyone's liking.

    Cheers

A good use of the wiki would be to organize the Jantzen fabrics with pics and reviews. I just had five shirts made there and I hope to get around to this once I get back to Shanghai in a few days or back in Austin in a few weeks.

Good call. I'll try to figure out which fabrics I have.

edit: here's a link to the thread on AAAC. Are we allowed to ape the reviews?

Just added some leather terms to the shoe page. If anything is wrong or missing please correct just notice they pop up from time to time on the boards.

The "mirror shine" article seems to be pulled. Anyone saved a copy?

The wiki stores all edits to a page so the content can be restored by comparing the previous version to the current version.
