Estimates I've read is that they have 80 more HP than the Renault engine at this moment.
Yet Ricciardo gets 3rd in front of Bottas and Perez? That seems a bit optimistic, but if so, Red Bull have put together an amazing chassis.
80 hp? Come on, if is true they should just pack and leave. In the last two races Ferrari could not make a pass and tomorrow Is going to be even worse
Good article on James Allen's website "from a fan's view" http://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2014/04/does-f1-need-more-change-a-fans-view/

Did you see the way Mercedes pulled out a massive gap in a handful of laps after the safety car today? That's easily 80 HP. They were 22 seconds ahead in 10 laps.
If the Merc power unit has 80 hp on Renault and Ferrari, you'd expect the Force India, Williams, and McLaren cars to pull away at a similar rate. The Mercedes advantage is more than just power.
Also, I don't get Hamilton. Does he need to slate himself to get motivation? His comments suggesting that Nico got more out of the car don't seem consistent with his race pace. Without the safety car, Rosberg wouldn't have had a sniff of the win.
Nico got more out of the car? With soft tires and drs was not able to pass him
Great race. Lol at Ferrari.
It would have been a garbage pail if the 2 mercs were not allowed to race. Good on them. Have you ever seen so many lockups in an F1 race? Especially the Ferrari's.
Vettel getting beaten by a teammate was great to see. And this:
What is Helmut Marko's going to do when Ricciardo will constantly be faster than Vettel? A switch "a la Don King"?
I don't believe that's the case, Vettel is probably quicker on the whole. They just can't pigeon hole Ricciardo as a #2.
FINALLY! I caught a snippet of a race.... and my boy won! I thoroughly enjoyed the over/unders he and Nico were having. I do remember one distinctly where Hammy was defending the inside right before a corner, pulls to the outside and hits the brake forcing Nico inside as Hammy sweeps under to take the front.
Haven't read much off this thread but if anyone's mentioned the engine sound? donkey. Turbo whistling sounded nice but I prefer V8's...hell even last year was nice.
Livery on the McLarens look awesome.... even better if one of them finished
Now that they've adjusted the broadcast audio so that you actually hear it, I like the engine note. My favorite ever? No, but still just fine.
The didin't do a very good job in the last race. The pace car was louder and sounded better.
Here you go... a guy with the same seats 2 years in a row. The difference is shocking:
