What a brilliant race! Hard to believe this is Piastri's 2nd year in F1. Baku's such a tight circuit, he and Leclerc battled cleanly from lap one. Fun watch. Shame for Perez/Sainz.

Sainz/Perez: Sainz got greedy. With a bit of patience, he likely would have gotten Leclerc later in the lap. Perez was hard-headed (which he frequently is) and acted like he could intimidate Sainz into taking a non-standard line. Carlos created the situation, but Checo created the crash.

Bearman after two races holds 16th in the WDC. Colapinto after two (neither in a Ferrari...) holds 18th.

Piastri gave the perfect response to the team orders kerfuffle.

I’m thrilled with what McLaren came away with, given how they started. Piastri drained Leclerc’s soul lap by lap.

Lando did very well this weekend, considering his situation. I understand that people don’t like him for various reasons, but he got booted from Q1 by a terribly timed yellow flag, and still salvaged 4th and a better performance than Max. I think he had the best Sunday that he could reasonably expected to deliver, and the 2-place gift at the end from Checo and Carlos was welcome also

I hope Bernie Collins has a long career at Sky Sports in F1. She brings a fantastic level of insight.
Not sure if serious, but I agree with you. Bernie seems very sharp and knowledgeable. Where was Crofty today? I feel like everyone else managed just fine without him.

That was a brilliant race, and I think Piastri is showing that he’s the top driver for McLaren. I can’t remember a more exciting race than that one in a while.

I was hoping to see some slomo replay of the Sainz/Perez crash. I almost wonder if it was airflow that forced them into each other.

And, Newey is going to AM? What a waste of his talent. They have two mediocre drivers, and the better of the two is fairly old. Knowing that one of AM’s drivers will always be Stroll (at least for a while) makes me wonder how much of a difference Newey can actually make there.

Crofty decided he didn't want to do 24 races this year, and I guess Sky values him enough that they were willing to let him skip some.

Absolutely sincere. I love her take on strategy. Sky's always done a great job IMO. There really isn't an announcer I dislike enough to bother me (other than Danica Patrick but I assume she does the US races only).

This was after the checkered flag.
This is why I am not a fan of Lando, he comes across as a whiny spoiled brat and yes Max did/does as well, but when Max has a dominate car he dominates in it, Lando is doing well but if he was as good as Max or Lewis he would be blowing everyone out of the water EVERY race, like he did at the Dutch Grands Prix.

Kind of confirms what we already know. Lando isn’t on Max or Lewis’s level. If Lando ever wins a WDC, he’ll probably be viewed like Jensen Button.
