So, Hamilton to Mercedes, Perez to McLaren. I think Perez is getting the better deal.

Not always. It was for Villneuve when he went to BAR, but Shcumacher went to Ferrari and gobbled up the WCs. It depends on who is running the show.

We'll see how much raw speed Perez has. Its honestly not a huge step down, but I thought this was Hamilton's most mature season in the sport and showed he was poised to own the sport. He didn't have the luck this season, unfortunately.

Personally, I think he is making a mistake, but we'll see.

Looks like Schumacher is taking Perez's seat at Sauber, but I dont know what the real value is in that.

Since Ferrari let him go, is this a sign Massa is safe? I hope not, the guy has been shit.

Ready for my revelation??? SCHUMACHER TO FERRARI - as a #2 to Alsonso, it would come full circle, ha ha.

    Good article. I love this:

The most depressing part of that is the news that he's been hanging out with Chris Brown. LH is apparently the worst judge of character in F1.

Schumi probably still wants to drive. Simple as that.

Mercedes has given no indication that they know the first thing about designing a fundamentally competitive car. And by that I mean competitive under a variety of conditions and on various tracks. Buxton's assessment is sadly on-point.

Actually, this is kind of true. When he and that stupid girlfriend broke up he was driving like shit. He gets rattled and makes bad decisions, both on and off track. His father being his manager was an example. Anyone ever report the reason they actually broke? DiResta dropped him pretty fast, wonder what happened there too.

I know he still wants to drive, but Schumacher could spend the next 20 years being the most sought after test driver in F1. In fact, he'd be very useful in that role at Mercedes.

Except there's no testing anymore! I think that's a big part of why Schumi hasn't flourished since coming back. One of his weapons was his ability to test the car ad nauseum and find the setups and parts that worked for him. Now he just has the simulator and FP1-3. Not the same thing.

I think Ferrari did a clever move with allowing Perez go to McLaren. Perez at such a young age, with a good team and a good car, can be world champion. Look at Alonso - ex McLaren and now at Ferrari. Is doing very well to bring the team to it's former glories. Raikkonen - ex McLaren, won his world championship with Ferrari. Ferrari have been reiterating they wouldn't sign Sergio since he's so young and inexperienced. He's only at McLaren to cut his teeth and scratch up the experience, where he'll probably pick up a Ferrari seat in 4-5 years.

So, Perez is too inexperienced, but Hulkenberg is suitable? Montezemolo defies reason sometimes.
