OK - I have to fly to Taiwan next Tuesday to take pre-wedding photos (kill me now, please). Anyway, my future wife informs me that I should probably bring a tux since she is going to be wearing a wedding dress in the photos. She tells me this yesterday. So - I need a tux, shoes, shirt, bow tie - tailored - by next Monday (so I need to buy something like today). I don't want to rent, and I don't want to pay retail if I can avoid it. Ideas?

Thanks!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

As I see it you have two choices ...

#1 ... you go the cheap route. You buy a cheap tux and get it properly tailored (I'd line up the tailor first, explaining your situation, and making sure that ASAP alterations can be done.) The tux is for the photo and essentially "disposable" (maybe you wear it for the wedding as well, and then dispose of it, if you are not the tux-wearing type). Even if you ARE the tux-wearing type, this operation would probably set you back less $$$ than the difference in regular vs. sale cost of a good tux.

#2 ... you bite the bullet and get a good tux. At retail.

(Of course, you don't say where you live. If you live in somewhere other than a major city where both options are viable, you are kinda limited ... and kinda screwed.)
