Formal braces in NYC

Where can I find a pair of formal braces in New York City? Preferably nothing too expensive, so perhaps Thurston is out of the question (unless there is a particular discount somewhere). What color is appropriate? I would think black, but I've heard that white is more common with black tie. Any help would be most appreciated~

I know Barney's has them, but probably somewhat expensive. The Polo mansion may have some on sale. Other than that, look online for a store that carries Trafalgar. If they make formal braces, they will probably be the most reasonably priced.

Yes, white is more correct for black tie. Trafalgars are certainly not less expensive than Thurstons, which go for around seventy dollars from their website.
