Last weekend, walking home from Dupont Circle in DC, I walked past a closed up store front with a familiar looking logo on it...on second glance I discovered a sign telling me that Nandos is opening its first store soon. I JUST FOUND OUT TODAY THAT IT'S OPENING THIS WEEKEND!!! Honestly I've waited probably about 7 years for this (ever since I moved to the US and realized there's none around)

    !!

It's opening at 819 7th St. NW, at H St, on, if I'm not mistaken, Saturday or Sunday. !![IMG]

Any other Nando's fans out there?

Nandos is all over the place here.

I guess the food is ok, but I dont really like the atmosphere of them. And I hate having to go stand in a long ass line to get myself another beer

YAY NANDOS! First got my taste in London. Then i found a place when I was living in Canada. I was pissed to not find one in the US (plenty of KFC's and Popeyes's though :/).

I_love_Nandos. AND to top it all off, Dupont Circle is close to me...

Maybe you are missing Koinange Street? Used to be a nandos there, amongst the other goods and services to be had.

Why the big fuss over grilled chicken? Serious question, I have never eaten there before.

How can I forget? First one I ever went to. Although the one in Westlands (? ... by the Casino/steers/debonairs, last I remember) was closer to us

Another Nandos fan checking in. Quarter breast chicken (lemon and herb) chips and vanilla coke, nothing better.

I find the Peri-peri sauce they sell doesn't make a very good basting but is an excellent steak sauce. For the Aussies who want to make it at home, try the Woolworth's select version (I think it's called Portuguese Chili)

I'm not sure about you guys, but whenever we're in London, we pick up Peri-Peri marinade. Try that...it's really good and they have quite a few varieties.
