btw rdawson, i dont think the GK issue for the turkish national team will be that big.

If a player is blocked by a red card, it is always a bit of a hassle.

Look at Schweini. Fortunately for the Krauts, he did everything right upon his return.

He fell over with minimal contact

Ahh, back to his old ways. Nice. Such a pussy. Makes me dislike him even more. At least lately I was begrudgingly admitting his brilliant abilities.

btw rdawson, the backup goalie i think has the most international appearences for the turkish national team, i think about 115, 116 caps. i heard it on espn, i dont think the GK issue will be that big.

How old is that quote, though, that he'd like to move to RM? He said that before. It seemed to be a non-committal, "sure it'd be great to play at RM some day" kind of thing.

And thanks for the clarification on the GK issue.

It is an issue. Rüstu is inferior. But the Croats cannot take advantage of it. It's not a very good match at all. I fear, we have to go through the additional time.

awesome turkiye! I can't believe I missed the goals and penalties! So folks, Germany vs. Turkey in the semis. Tough tough decision for me, as I really like both teams. Germany has the edge in many many ways, so I think they will win it. Germany 2-1.

Its going to be hard for the remaining matches to live up the last couple of very very exciting games.

I think Germany will definately beat Turkey.
My team, the Dutch will beat Russia. At least my rational side tells me this. My irrational part fears the russians and their unpredictable cunning attackers.

My bad, it looks like someone WAS carded for it.

That clip doesn't show him popping right up off the turf after the card and running around though, grinning. What a douche.

I caught the second half and most of the overtime. That was one hell of a finale. I was stunned.

I thought (until that first goal) that the Turkish GK did very well.

i don't blame ronaldo on that one. the german steps on his foot on purpose, which was worthy of a card, but if ronaldo doesn't put on that act, there would have been no card given. in the end, justice was done.

Great finish to the Croatia-Turkey match. I've got to give the semis to the Germans though. We'll see!

congratulations to the turks because of their bravery at today's game. It's gonna be very difficult against germany because turkey is gonna have 8 or 9 player not available, for cards or injury, for the semifinal, but gook luck anyway.

Games like that are the reason everyday more people are falling in love with soccer.
