Ugh. I ate a funky sandwich today and now I'm paying the price. For exactly 7 hours I've been dubbled over in pain. I'm hoping to throw up soon just to get it over with...

I've been there a few times...once in the middle of a trans- Atlantic flight. If you cannot hold down a sip of water, you should see a doctor. He can give you some stuff that will help. Basically your body will tryy to extinguish everything from the first available orifice. Then... try to sleep it off for around 12 hours. Then you should start to recover. If you aren't getting better after around 12 hours go to the hospital!

Good news is that you'll get over food poisoning rather quickly. Remember to drink lots of fluids.

Bad news is that it may be a while before you desire a tasty sandwich for lunch.

If you slowly train your body to eat garbage, food poisoning will start to lose its edge, and soon, you won't even know you have it.

Ok, I'm back from the dead, and as it turns out, it probably wasn't food poisoning. Rather, I was suffering from some sort of bowel cramp.

I love the 'Similar Threads' thing at the bottom of the screen. Stazy, it suggests that you now check out 'your favorite fast food restaurant and meal' for recommendations

Actually....yes! I had either food poisoning or a very nasty GI virus a couple weeks ago. Diarrhea every 20 minutes for about 8 straight hours. I tried/wanted to vomit, but could not do it. Several times I got down and stuck my head in the bowl and started to do it. It would start to come up, but I think I was subconsciously fighting it. Very painful syndrome, almost like getting the wind knocked out of you. I think I have a natural aversion to it. I haven't puked since I was around 6 years old (aside from two alcohol related incidents that I recall; even then I was HEAVILY wasted). When you're intoxicated, the inhibition is simply erased. I guess I've always had this thing with being really freaked out by it.

I despise vomiting, as well as the thought of it. Though like many things digestive tract dysfunction once it's over things usually feel better, or at the very least you got nothing left to throw up.

Back in my musician days, I used to throw up nearly every morning; just eliminating the excess alcohol. Hard to believe I survived that part of my life.

The euphoria after throwing up due to excessive drinking is one of life's natural highs.
