1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    NOBD - very nice.

I just took delivery of four handmade shirts from G.Inglese in Italy via Deer Style, in Brisbane:

One plain, light blue oxford cloth; one sky-blue-and-white bengal stripe; one indigo chambray; and one sky blue, royal oxford cloth shirt.

I think that the chambray is my favourite:

I suspect they intended for us to read the alternate definition, used to evoke the name of the thread. You don't have an objection to the phrase "explicit porn" do you?

Not that denim-ish chambray above. We commissioned two styles in Albini chambray this season : a light blue and a grey Bengal stripe. I prefect not to post links outside the affiliate thread but they're easy to find using our site search function (little magnifier up top)

I picked up five Borrelli shirts overseas (pics to follow).

I can't see any basis for the suggestion that Borrelli has fallen off - there was a ton of handwork: yoke and shoulders, collar attachment, buttons and buttonholes, of course, but also both sides of the French fronts.

Confusingly, some are marked as 'Royal Collection' while others aren't, but they all seem to be the same standard of finishing and cloth, although one of the Royals actually has a double row of handstitching on each shoulder.

In my opinion it's not necessarily that the amount of handwork has dropped but rather the materials used, ie no longer those large MOP buttons etc. The price has also gone up considerably whilst quality has remained somewhat similar as when I've seen Borrelli shirts lately they are all around €300 a shirt. Obviously for this you still get one of the best RTW shirts in the business but it's not really in line with their other competition.

The biggest difference for me, however, is in their suiting as the cost cutting is quite evident there.

Far fewer places these days carry Borrelli than say five years ago which must mean something.
