I chase small fish. This was probably the biggest Brown I’ve caught, and it was in a creek I could jump across.

This ‘bow put up the biggest fight I’ve seen yet. Jumped about three feet into the air after I hooked it. Good times 20 miles upstream from home.

On an Atlantic salmon trip. Three hookups today and one to hand. Plus a very hefty brown. Heading to bed at 9:30 to be up at 5:00 and the first one to rotate into a fresh pool.

@romafan My arm is about to fall off after hundreds of 8wt casts and the line has cut a groove into my stripping finger.

    The "gentlemen sport" my ass.

Yes, but my partner hasn't touched a fish. He's despondent. I've hidden the whisky and the revolvers.

Small town river - every pool we walked into today we were greeted with, "Oh I heard you New York boys hooked up." Didn't have the heart to tell them that means something else in the big city.

    Any luck today?

Need some pics, if only for some late-summer-in-the-Maritimes ambience....

Low water all week, so not a lot of guys were connecting.

I ran into a guy who said, "I heard you caught that brown. I've been trying to catch that fuckin' fish for a month. Whadya use?"
    "A blue charm."
    "Goddamsonofabitch"

    That felt good.

Sorry, bro, I don't take fish pics. But here's a lovely shot of a morning walk in.
