It doesn't seem like it should be so very difficult to develop classic style guidelines for women... after all, most guidelines are unisex. Proper fit and fabric selection shouldn't be too terribly different, nor should color combination rules, although a women might get away with cheerier colors in certain situations. The guidelines for trousers and skirts don't seem as though they'd be too terribly different... An exaggerated flare polyester skirt would be in just as poor taste as exaggerated flare polyester trousers... I suppose there'd be the question of length. Hosiery may get a bit more attention than in menswear, but the fabrics involved are the same. The aesthetics of shoes may differ, but the quality construction requirements and timeless quality remain. Sweaters are the same, overcoats not dissimilar. Appropriate collar styles of a shirt might change, but is its basic construction that different? I'd suppose the only stumbling block would be the dress.

I asked her over the weekend what made the difference for her given the before and after and she said getting her colors gave her confidence in finding clothes that would look good on her. After that, she said finding stores with helpful salespeople was a big deal.

It got me thinking though about her having her colors done as I've never heard of a guy doing it, and most guys I know have no clue what looks good on them beyond following rules, so maybe they're related...

Seriously, I'm in Jame's of McLean this weekend looking at suits and several of them I'm like, "who thinks they looks good in that color?"

And then the salesperson told me the Prime Minister of Kazakstan bought one...

Oh, and as an aside, besides complaining about the movie "Borat" the good Prime Minister was here to ask for increased financial aid. It must've gone well for him because the saleman said he purchased ten suits totaling $108,000 to include a super 200's Brioni MTM I was shown...

Just get your chick to read I-D, Nylon, W, Tokion and french Vogue & Elle. She can look at the new collections on the fashion spot and style.com. She has about 80000 gazillion books and blogs (just go to a blog like style bubble and look at the links). Don't women have more leeways even in traditional offices, why restrict her to Flusser's dorky taste; you may like Margaret Thatcher but you wouldn't date her...
