No, we have been to Florence before but it has been quite a while. For the last 10 years or so we have spent our time in Northern Italy, flying into Milan. We love Milan and the lakes.

I'm glad you are enjoying it. I will do my best to update this after my trip. There was an excellent Shopping Florence thread at one time but that was circa 2007 so it is now very much outdated. Hopefully this will help others planning trips to Florence in the near future.

Unfortunately a lot has changed in 10 years. A lot of great places replaced by gelato shops and money exchange places.

Bought myself and the wife a nice leather bag at Ottino. Awesome stuff. More than they show on the website. Got an extra 10% off discount by just asking. Really worth visiting the store.
