Fleece in school color and with school logo?

My graduating class had a "Class of 2007" hoodie and fleece made, complete with the school seal on the breast. Thing is, would you prefer to have these things in your school color, or in a neutral color like charcoal and keep the color to the seal and class name?

For example, if you're from Ohio State, would you prefer a hoodie or fleece in red?

I picked the fleece because I thought it was more practical as a layering piece. I always end up wearing a sweater over a hoodie anyway.

If school spirit is your thing--which isn't mine and I've never understood the idea--then certainly a school color is apropos.

Doesn't Harvard also have red as their color?

Sweater over a hoodie Jose? That must look kind of strange no?

I say go for whatever color with the fleece. Those type of items are usually kept as momentos anyways. Make sure it has sufficiently high armholes though

at the least have your class sign on it and keep it as a memento of your beer-swilling days in boston, companero!

Dude this is ridiculous--far from thread-worthy. I feel like it's just another opportunity to flaunt the fact that you're at HLS, albeit through some trifling and marginal sartorial "dilemma."

Get over yourself, dog. The fleeces are available in crimson, black, charcoal, blue and a number of other colors, and they're usually pretty cheap (I'm guessing $30-$40 considering the number of people that are likely purchasing) and are pretty cheaply made. The decision isn't that deep. Drop the 35 balls and get some fleece that will be pilly and raggedy in a couple of months and relegated to 3rd string Sunday wear.

I've noticed that you've taken some heat on this board, and I'm not a proponent of internet bashing, but come on man... I suppose you didn't pick up the new Jay-Z album today (it's okay, not great), but he's got a song on it called "Dig A Hole." The chorus: "Dig a Hole, Dig a Hole, Dig A Hole/ Go Ahead, Bury Yourself." You're burying yourself, man.

Me neither. Especially considering school gear is poorly made.

This is pretty much the question. Do you guys wear an article of clothing in a color you normally wouldn't, because it's your school (college, high school, etc.) color? It usually ends up something like a red that's too dark or a blue or yellow that's pretty bright, etc. I do like wearing my Wolverines shirt, though.

I'm not particularly giving it much thought. Anything I don't like, my Mom will lay a claim to anyway. I was just curious if anyone actually wore the things, as I've only seen them in football games and in the gym, unless it's a varsity jacket. Grad school gyms are fun in the sense that you see pretty much every college shirt or sweatshirt.

Nah, you're doing a stellar job by yourself, but I'll remember to jump in when you need help.

I wouldn't consider paying $40 for something as badly and ubiquitously made as a fleece sweatshirt cheap.

Zegna Sport makes really nice fleeces and they come in normal colors.

I never would wear school colors, but that is just me. Frankly, the Harvard ones seem a little extra poseurish to me because so many people wear them who did not attend.

I wanted to kill my wife when she threw out my last t-shirt with my fraternity letters on it. That was a long time ago.

I don't know if you are planning on going back to the tropical Asian country after school, but if you are, the fleece might be a nice keepsake to have. In that case, crimson.

I have no intention of wearing fleece, ever.

However, for college clothing, I've noticed many people who obviously did not attend say, Columbia or Yale, wear the mascot sweatshirts. Who is the fake Vuitton toting, bottle blonde lush fooling?

Great for louning around the house in on fall and winter mornings. I just can't ever see myself in a Sulka tassled robe.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions...
