I'm generally a proponent of slimmer-fitting jeans.  Not so tight that you have to grease up to squeeze out of them, but fairly tailored, with relatively little flare at the bottom - the kind of jeans that an Italian guy would wear with a crisp white button-down open at the collar, and a sleek jacket/blazer, while zooming along the streets of Rome on his Vespa.

I just picked up my first pair of Paper Denim Cloth jeans and, though they're fairly slim from waist to knee, they flare out signficantly at the ankle.  Not bell-bottoms, but a more modern, stylish take.  Still, a pretty dramatic flare nonetheless.  Those who know PDC know of what I speak.

I'm wondering how those of you out there who wear such jeans choose to do so.  So far, I've received the most compliments (particularly from girls aged about 18-24- not a bad target audience, I suppose) when paired with a vintage T and Diesel trainers.  Any other thoughts on how to wear 'em?

tried paper denim cloth, did not care for the way it looked on my frame despite the salesgirl at saks telling me how nicely it complimented me and that she loved men in paper denim cloth more than any other jean

still didnt' get me to buy

if you like they way they look and suit your frame and obviously you're getting compliments on them, wear them with such confidence that they are obviously deserving on you

Kratts flare out slightly at the ankle.  If you want a completely straight leg, take a look at the Diesel Kulter model.

I have three pairs of flared jeans (PDC, Energie, Levi's) that all go really well with boots (I guess thats why they're called bootcut). However I'm hesitant to wear them with sandals, or some of the sneakers I own; the bottom is just too big and ends up looking goofy. I try to buy jeans with subtle flair as well. The new PDC jeans have too much IMO, thus I opted for the levi's (Red tab 507, vintage wash). I usally pair them with a button down.

Actually, peg-leg jeans seem to be all the rage here; paired with jackets that rest just about the waist. The guy you described is actually me, sans Vespa, lol.
