Flannel for summer?

    Seems that in 20s and 30s light flannel was a summer fabric.
    I don't can imagine to wear flannel in summer; was the perception of the heath different 80 years ago?[​IMG]

    I have several pairs of trousers made from various Fox Brothers flannel in a light weight that wear very comfortably in the Northern California summer. I also have a striped blazer in flannel which is made for summer. I wouldn't wear them on the East Coast or some other very humid climate, but they're fine for here.

    My 13oz Fox Flannel blazer is great in the not so hot English summer, but I wouldn't wear it on the warmest days.

    In my view you can get away with a mid to even heavier flannel so long as the weather isn't humid. Once the humidity rises then it is uncomfortable
