My computer is telling me there is a virius and I am noticing that it jumps around to pages automatically, I think that is a sign of The Worm Virius. This is a "beater" laptop I brought home from my office. It is a Windows 2000 platform. What should I do to fix it?

Thanks

A good start would be a virus scanner.

Do you have anti-virus installed on your computer?

a "beater" laptop with Win2000 and no virus protection... yeah, it's probably not worth repairing, just start over.
Email your most important files to your gmail or hotmail account (both scan attachments for viruses). Then either re-install windows (this time with a anti-virus program) or, your laptop is a perfect contender for a linux install.

Did you say you are getting 'solicitations' to remove? If it is from a program called Antivirus 360 stop right now. TrendMicro's housecall would be a wise step.
