Though 86-89 was probably the best 3 years in hip hop history, I think the 90's was the best decade.

1. Illmatic- Nas
2. Enta Da Stage- Black Moon
3. Reasonable Doubt- Jigga
4. Only Built For Cuban Linx- Raekwon
5. The Infamous- Mobb Deep

It is hard for me to pick just five, so my list changes from time to time, but here it is as of now:

Low End Theory- ATCQ

Illmatic- Nas

Operation: Doomsday- MF DOOM

Black Star- Black Star

Black On Both Sides- Mos Def

I don't have a list, but I think Bizarre Ride II deserves a mention, as it will probably get left off of most people's lists.

If I didn't know better, I would think you were joking. I don't understand why you sleep on Mos and Talib.

I very nearly had it on mine. If this were a top six or top seven list, it would have been on there as well as return to the 36 chambers, the dirty version.

Thats right, I like the first ODB solo album more than I like Enter The Wu. Sue me.

The first Wu-Tang is the best hip hop album ever made for me.
I used to like a lot of the Rawkus stuff, Mos Def was pretty good on his first album.
The Jugganots album is one of my favorite too.
Maybe an album by the Roots, not sure of that, I would have to listen to Things Fall Apart again.
Can't think of a fifth one right now.

I am surprised and disappointed in the lack of love for Ghost.

Jay-Z--Reasonable Doubt
Nas--Illmatic
Ghostface Killah--Ironman
Wu-Tang Clan--Enter the Wu
KRS-One--Return of the Boom Bap

Ghostface Killah--Supreme Clientele

Probably because Supreme Clientele wasn't an album of the 90's...
