Fitted Undershirts - Care Much?

Presumably most of you don't want to wear an undershirt that shows when you you are fully dressed. The poll rather is about whether you seek out undershirts that aren't baggy on you.

Anyone else, please? It's not the most important of questions, but it would be nice to get a larger, more reliable number of votes.

i like american apparel's deep v-neck t-shirts. i get them in small and they fit snugly; the collar and sleeves aren't visible even under a small polo shirt or an unbuttoned dress shirt.

I buy Target Merona in small. They're quite snug and the price is right.

I always heard that and bought some. Was extremely disappointed. Wore out so fast and didn't keep their shape. I recently switched to Nautica v-necks which I like a lot.

In winter I wear light but warm fitted silk long sleeve undershirts from Wintersilks in white (off-white really). They are totally undetectable and extremely comfortable. Dry overnight and are light for travelling. Crew neck or V-neck for open collars. Also wear their silk briefs, full cut. Takes a little getting used to but they are incredibly comfortable - going back to cotton felt restrictive.

I was unimpressed with my CK undershirts. I found them to be too wide in the belly and not long enough in the tail. Of course, these things all depend on one's build.

I'm still in search of the perfect undershirt. Many years ago I bought several undershirts with a Claybrooke label. They were the best -- the BEST -- but I can't find them anymore, and I can't even remember where I bought them. They had long tails that didn't creep up, smooth fabric that didn't cling to dress shirts, and were snug-fitting without being tight. Ah, yes [heavy sigh], they had it all.

I bought two of these recently, one Medium and one Large. Neither one fits well, and both seem poorly made. The hems don't lay flat, for one thing. I do like the deepness of the V, but I won't be buying any more of them.

Okay, now the numbers are high. That should be good, except that it's hard to believe a very high percentage of even style-conscious men go for fitted undershirts. More than a few members are overweight.... Probably the question was too leading.

If a few of you can explain your preference, please. For example, do you often walk around in just an undershirt? Does the look of it on your body matter to you or others/intimates?

The whole point of an undershirt is to provided added comfort and absorb your persperation. If it's baggy - you're losing out on the value it provides to the feel of the look.

You'll notice that fit is really important to style focused dress. It only makes sense for the undershirt to also fit.

Fitted might reduce air flow, however. From the poll results, it's already suspected that, controlling for age, the guys who don't wear undershirts tend to be heavier.

How do you deduce this bit of knowledge?

So few votes for "No, but that's because I am 'big.'" Because they have it easier due to the plethora of full-cut undershirts, there ought to have been more votes for the option.

I don't follow that. The "big" sweat more and would have more need for an undershirt in the first place. The fact that they answer yes doesn't preclude fatness. A big person could very well buy a fitted undershirt for the reason you mention, and then answer yes, because they did buy a fitted undershirt, and prefer them to ones even bigger than their body. That answer doesn't even belong in the poll. It is stupid.
