Here is a question for the Alden experts.
The Leydon last is one of the few Alden lasts I have not had a chance to try yet. So far, of all the Alden lasts I have tried, the only ones that fit me are the Plaza and Copley lasts.
The Aberdeen and Hampton are too narrow in the toe box. The Barrie fits in the length and width. However, it feels a little too high in the arch area in the front to back direction, and feels like standing barefoot on a broom handle (The Plaza and Copley lasts don't have this issue).
So my question is how the Leydon last stacks up in the universe of Alden lasts. Does it have at least as much toe room as the Plaza last, or more or less toe room? Is the last relatively flat in the front to back direction, or does it have a little slope to it like the Barrie?
I am interesed in the 7117s and 7118s Moc Toe Blucher, and am trying to figure out if the Leydon last may be a viable option.
Your thoughts?
Jess
